Modern Tradeshow Intelligence

Joyce McKee, a Tradeshow Guru/All Around Great Gal

Posted by Joanna Stasuk on Dec 12, 2012 2:51:45 PM

Joyce McKee died mid-November. It is difficult for me to come to the realization that I will no longer receive one of her invariably chipper phone calls, nor will I be able to hit my speed dial and hear her sunny voice. Joyce was a friend to many, especially in the marketing world in general and the trade show industry in particular.

Joyce was a wonderful friend.. I cannot recall her ever saying a bad word about anyone. Despite setbacks, like the fracture she sustained earlier this year, Joyce never bemoaned her fate.

As I write this, I glanced at my phone. Still too early to remove Joyce’s name from my speed dial. Perhaps I never will.

QR Code Scanning Capability Added to iLeads 1.3

Posted by Joanna Stasuk on Oct 13, 2011 12:26:24 PM

At Bartizan, we are quick to respond to changing technology and customer feedback. This feedback goes straight to our designers and drives all of our future product releases. Exhibitors asked for scanning, it is what they are most familiar with – so we responded.

Exhibitors love scanning badges. We do too - it must be something about the beeps.

The highlight of the latest iLeads 1.3 release is QR code scanning capability. This new feature gives exhibitors the option of entering a badge ID number or scanning a QR code on a trade show attendee's badge to digitally capture their info in real time. The 1.3 release also includes two convenient features allowing for direct contact to the captured lead – right from the tradeshow floor. The instant follow up feature works after the lead data has been captured. The attendee's telephone and email contacts appear on the iLeads display. By simply tapping either, the exhibitor is put in immediate touch with the attendee.

Exhibitors say the cloud-based iLeads is "easier” and “less costly” compared to other lead retrieval products they've used. They like how you “can download the leads right away” and “gather leads anywhere.” They appreciate how iLeads “gives better data about leads” and how "you can access those leads right away online.”

“Our research tells us that business travelers are carrying Smartphone’s – usage amongst show goers outpaces any other group,” said Lew Hoff, president, Bartizan Connects. “Combined with this kind of user response, we know we're delivering a great product to people who really need it.”

What's New in Version 1.3?

1. Badge scanning capability. Now you can scan or type the badge ID to retrieve real time sales lead data.

2. Ability to send a follow up email right away from your mobile device within the lead record.

3. Ability to call directly from the lead record by tapping on the telephone number.

This new release makes iLeads the most advanced lead capture app available. Live iLeads web demos are offered monthly, register here: http://www.bartizan.com/index.php?id=64

To download the iLeads app Smartphone users may go to the Android Market or the Apple App Store and search for 'iLeads.' To test the app and see how easy iLeads is to use, simply launch the app and enter event access code 1006. Then click on the event and enter test badge number 8188.

Trouble, oh we got trouble

There are those who just cannot get enough snow – kids and dogs, in particular. When Bubbles, our Maltese, jumps into a pile of snow, she would be invisible but for her two eyes. In the immortal words of Professor Harold Hill of Music Man fame, when we have snow like we have had lately in many parts of the country, those of us in the exhibition and events industry have

“Trouble, oh we got trouble,
Right here in River City!
With a capital "T"

3 Ways to Exhibit Smarter at Your Next Trade Show

Posted by Lew Hoff on May 21, 2009 11:53:00 AM

For a trade show to be profitable, you need to create a systematic tradeshow plan. As an exhibitor you have just made a substantial investment. Just add up the cost of salaries, exhibit space, travel, food and lodging and you’ll see that a little preparation will help you realize a substantial return on investment.

1) Set Goals – Going into a show you must have written goals. Showing up because your competitors will be attending, is not a goal. Acquiring new customers is a goal. Regaining lost customers is a goal. Apply quantifiable measures to each of these goals, like $50,000 of sales revenue from prospects over the next 3 months after the show.

2) Collect Qualified Leads – It is not as hard as you think to collect qualified leads at shows. The key is to set qualifiers pre show into your lead retrieval device. Those serious about lead generation need to utilize software post show to filter leads. To turn your leads into sales it is important to develop and stick to a sales process. Don’t leave your prospects buying decisions to chance. Effective follow-up with electronic leads management software is required if you are going to meet ambitious goals.

Trade Show Organizers: Operate the Way Warren Buffett Does

Posted by Lew Hoff on May 15, 2009 12:53:00 PM

When everyone else is hunkering down, Warren Buffett steps up to the plate. Clearly, it is an approach has been brilliantly successful for the Sage from Omaha. Buffett, as he says, is fearful when others are greedy, but greedy when others are fearful.

Today, nearly everyone appears fearful. But as is pointed out in a recent article in Go To Market Strategies, companies that invest in marketing during a recession tend to prosper far more than their competition when the economy revives. In fact, they are likely to maintain or even improve their business during a recession.
